INSTRUCTOR 1

Want to go home?

KOBRA

I miss seeing my parents and my
brothers, but a day after that, the
drudgery of boring days would
begin. If you have anything else
for me to learn, then I’d be
interested in staying.

INSTRUCTOR 1
We have a lot in store for you.
Want to continue?

KOBRA
Sure!

INSTRUCTOR 1
Everyone here is amazed at your
endurance. Yesterday you completed
the twenty miles with the running
instructor, but you were barely
sweating and not even breathing
hard.

KOBRA
My eyes were set on a state gold
medal. I’ve been working really
hard to achieve it. I have trained
myself to run twenty and thirty
miles a day.

INSTRUCTOR 1
Well, let’s rest a little this
morning and I’ll take you to the
top of the mountain this afternoon.

How do you know all of this?

Vietnam.

ten inch red circle. KOBRA lays down, looking through scope.

KOBRA
How do I adjust for the distance.

The instructors smile at each other.

INSTRUCTOR 3
Each mark in the scope is 100
yards. The gun is sighted in at
500 yards.

EXT. CAMERA DOWN SCOPE. TARGET IS LINED TO THE FIFTH MARK.

KOBRA places the tip of his finger on the trigger, deep
breath, exhales half, pulls. The gun erupts. Dust flies
behind target. Looking through the scope a pole rises out of
a trench with a red dot on the top and stops about 8 inches
left from the bulls eye.

Instructor 2 looks through binoculars and turns back to
KOBRA.

Our country has problem people in
the world and we would be better
off if they were no longer a
problem. You’re training was to
eliminate them. You can walk away
at anytime. If you cannot do it;
if it’s against your religion or
just against your judgment, nothing
will be held against you. Just
walk away.

KOBRA
Who are these people and what are
the problems?

LION opens one folder of many and displays pictures of a
man. Horrible pictures of murdered people. Pictures of dead
children. KOBRA gets quietly enraged, stands, walks around
the room, muscles flexing. Turns and looks LION straight in
the eye.

do.

LION
You’ll do just fine. This meeting
is over. (Standing) Just one more

interfere, so be careful.
KOBRA nods his head, exits the barn.

Filled to precise measurements with

Yes mam.

Well that's good. I'm here to keep

LISA

Lisa points to her army layout on the floor in the other

PAT

LISA
Absolutely not!

So Pat got down in the floor and showed her how to aim the

The boys come over and when he went to push her down again, Lisa grabs his arm, twist his wrist and flings him across the yard.

Go ahead and tell your mother you

TOMMY
Almost 14.

LISA
Then do you want to whine or do you
want to play football?

Tommy picks the ball up and throws it to Lisa. The four of
them begin to play. Pat walks away from the window, but when she returns, Lisa is snapping the ball between her legs and Tommy has his hands down between her legs to take the ball. Pat runs outside and takes Lisa by the hand and leads her back inside the house.

LISA

DAD
We are going to travel all over the

Lisa and her dad packs bags, limo drives them to the airport
and they are off across the country. They travel to all the
state high school track relays in search for a few boys who
can run long distances. Lisa growls deeply at the strong
young men in their short shorts and had butterflies in her
stomach. They end up at the University of North Texas in
Denton, TX. Lisa and her dad are having breakfast. He is looking at his notes and shaking his head as if to acknowledge he did not find what he was looking for. We finished our breakfast and headed for the meet. Once inside the stadium, we walked to the center of the field and watch these very handsome young men. Dad walks up to this big ol' Farm Boy. FARM BOY
Yes sir, it's a very nice day.

Lisa has listened to the conversation and is mesmerized by

FARM BOY
I've been training really hard for
this day. I've been running 20 and
30 miles a day. I think my chances
are pretty good.

DAD
Well good luck and see you at the
finish line.

Farm Boy walks away and Lisa follows him. He walks up to the bathrooms and sees this boy punching and kicking a girl.
Farm Boy jumps between them then pushes the bully. He falls
back and bumps into Lisa.

GIRL

She continues to kick him and he stands and pushes her away.

Lisa goes out to the field and looks for Farm Boy. She looks

Boy walking towards her. She stands so she can talk to him.
He looks up and says...
