SAM
Alright, your bill is paid in full.
Now the next time you get into trouble you may not have any leverage.

CARL
Yes, this will never happen again.

SAM
Now get out. I hope to never see you again.
EXT: NIGHT

INT:
Back at the house, they have taken Laura upstairs and a couple of women are hosing her down, cleaning her up. A body guard watches.
LAURA
What are you doing?
BODYGUARD
Just keep your mouth shut and you will not be hurt.
Laura is scared and crying. After the bath, the women dress her in a very nice evening gown. Low cut, and a high slit up one side. She is taken downstairs to a large drawing room where there are about thirty men in tuxedo’s sitting around the edge of the room. Laura has now stopped crying and is escorted slowly around the room.
ESCORT
You look very beautiful tonight.
Just follow me and nothing will happen to you.
As they walk around, the men hold up numbers showing they are bidding on her. After a while the bidding is over. Laura is escorted back upstairs and is placed in a large bedroom. She runs to the window, it opens. However it has arched bars so there is no escape. A few minutes later an older man walks into the room. The room is locked.
MAN
Hello. You can call me Tim. We are going to have a nice time tonight.
Now if you resist, I will ring this bell and the guards will come in and hold you down.
Laura doesn’t know what to do. Tim comes over and gives her a drink.
TIM
Please drink all of it. It will help you relax.
Laura takes a sip.
TIM(continued)
All of it, now!
Laura finishes off the drink. The room becomes fuzzy and she drops the chalet. Tim walks over and begins removing her dress.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN.

Laura did not come home last night.
The father jumps out of bed and runs down to her room. He notices his son staring at them.
SON
What’s wrong?
JIM
Your sister did not come home last night. Do you know where she is?
SON
No, Sir. The house has been quiet all night, except…
MOTHER
Except what?
SON
Well, about ten o’clock as I was going to bed, Spot started growling.
MOTHER
Oh my God. She’s been kidnapped.
JIM
We don’t know that. Get Billy’s number and call his parents.
Mother runs down stairs and looks up Billy’s number. She dials franticly as Jim and son look on.
MOTHER
Yes, this is Laura’s mother. Did Billy come home last night?
Mother turns to Jim,
MOTHER continued.

JIM
Yes
OFFICER WEAVER
I need her age and a photograph of her I can keep to pass around.
Mother runs out of the room to get a photo.
JIM
She is seventeen. She was picked up by Billy Minor for her date last night.
OFFICER WEAVER
Yes, we have that information and there is a car at Billy’s house investigating as we speak.
The mother comes back in with her high school picture.
MOTHER
Will you be able to find her?
OFFICER WEAVER
We will do our best, but in most cases the kids go out,
fall asleep and show up later on in the day.
I have the number of a private detective that is very good
at locating and returning children. Would you like his number?
JIM
Yes, Please.
OFFICER WEAVER
OK, I’ve got all I need; however we cannot do anything for 48 hours.
Please give the detective agency a call. They will get right on it.
The mother sits down on the couch and begins to cry. The son sits with her not knowing what to do.
Jim, looking at the card, calls the number.
VERONICA
Tracers Detective Agency. How may we help you?
JIM
Yes, this is Jim Wilson, We have a daughter missing.
VERONICA
Can I get an address?
Veronica jots down the information.
VERONICA continued
We will send someone right over.
JIM
Thank you so much.
Scene chane, Doorbell rings, Holley and Kyle are greeted.
KYLE
Yes I am Detective Kyle and this is my partner Holley please tell us what happened.
JIM
Our daughter went out on a date last night and never came home.
KYLE
Do you know the boy?
JIM
Yes, Billy Minor, and yes we have already called his parents. He is missing also.
HOLLEY
Has she ever disappeared like this before?
MOTHER stops crying
No, she would never do anything like this.
KYLE
Do you have a make and model of the car? Maybe a license number?
JIM
Yes, the Minors have given us the information.
Here, I have already written it down for you.
Kyle takes the information; the mother has another picture and hands it to Holley.
HOLLEY
We will make some calls and look for the car. All we can do is wait until some finds it.
MOTHER
Will you be able to help find her?
KYLE
You have contacted us early. This gives us the best chance to find her. We will keep in touch.
Kyle and Holly leave. They go to the car and Kyle speed dials a number.
KYLE
Everyone, this is Kyle and Holley.
I need you to be on the lookout for a red 1999 Oldsmobile, license aaa2222
Call us if you see it. Holley is texting you her picture now.
Kyle dials another number.
KYLE
Yes, Walter. We have a missing girl.
Yes, that is correct Laura Wilson. So you know about her.
Good. Do you have any leads? Me either. Keep us posted as I will you.
Scene change, lakeside Billy’s car.
Billy and his car are found by a fisherman. Billy is still unconscious. Fisherman calls police.
FISHERMAN(dials cell phone)
Yes, this is Scott Freeman.
I’m out at Lake Worth and I have found a young man
that looks like he’s been hit in the head.
Yes, South side off Plantation Road.
Yes, it’s a red Oldsmobile, license plate aaa2222
Yes, I will stay here until someone arrives.
The police dispatcher types in the information and calls out on the radio.
Detective Walter (Dials a number)
Kyle? We’ve located the car. We are in route to Lake Worth,
Plantation road. The boy is there with a head wound. The girl is still missing.
KYLE
I know where that is at. We will meet you there.
KYLE dials a number
Yes Jim, the police have found the car, however, Billy has been found but Laura is still missing.
OK, I am on route and will let you know anything we find out.
The police show up with an ambulance. He talks to the fisherman as they tend to Billy. Another Policeman walks up.
POLICEMAN
Hi, I’m Officer Weaver. Are you the person who found him?
FISHERMAN
Yes sir. I was wading around the shoals when I could not go any farther.
I walked up this trail to get around the rocks when I saw the car. Both doors were open.
WALTER
Have you seen anyone else around?
FISHERMAN
No sir, just me.
Officer Weaver pulls a picture from his shirt pocket as Kyle and Holley Drive up.
WALTER
I don’t guess you have seen this girl have you?
FISHERMAN
No sir. Only the boy.
KYLE
No sign of the girl?
WALTER
No, just Billy. He seems to have a concussion but he’s still alive.
It does look like they made it to the drive in. The ticket is still on the windshield.
HOLLEY
When do you think we will be able to talk to him?
WALTER
Well that will be up to him when he wakes,
but you will need to ask permission of the parents.
KYLE
That won’t be a problem.
Kyle speed dials
KYLE
Attention everyone, we have found the car but no sign of the girl.
Please keep an eye out for her.
Kyle hangs up and looks at Holley.
KYLE
Holley, please call Veronica and have her come down.
I know the police are investigating, but maybe another pair of eyes will help.
HOLLY
On it.
Holley dials Tracers.
HOLLY
Yes, Veronica, get you kit and your butt down to Lake Worth, south side, Plantation road.
We have a crime scene. The police are here but we need another set of eyes.
OK, we will wait until you get here.
A little while later Veronica arrives. She follows behind the police investigator and takes her own pictures and notes. Kyle and Holley watch.
VERONICA
The police have found two sets of footprints.
I agree with them that it belongs to the perps.
They parked there vehicle up the road there.
According to the tire tracks they are Bridgestone 18in.
These are common on trucks. The police said the two men must
have grabbed her and taken her off to their vehicle. But I disagree.
One of the tracks beside Billy’s car has a deeper indent
like he may have picked her up. But then I see a girl’s foot print
heading off into the woods. I think she got away from them.
KYLE
Can we track her?
VERONICA
No, it has been too dry.
I might be able to follow for a couple of hundred yards, but it will be difficult.
HOLLEY
I’d appreciate it if you’d give it a try.
KYLE
I’ll stay with you
Ambulance takes Billy to the hospital. Holley goes back to the car and Kyle and Veronica head off into the woods. They follow a few broken limbs; find a couple of Laura’s foot impressions. They then run out of leads.
VERONICA
Well, that is about it.
KYLE
Nothing else?
VERONICA
No, this is mostly grass. It goes on for miles.
We could go to the other side and try and pick up her trail, but it could take days.
KYLE
Wait a minute. We are close to Red Robin Lane?
VERONICA
I think so. According to my GPS it’s right over that hill.
KYLE
Laura’s house is only a few blocks from there. Follow me.
Kyle and Veronica cross the field and go over the hill. As they approach the road, Veronica starts looking again at the dirt beside the road. They walk up the road and Veronica’s eyes open wildly.
VERONICA
Kyle look! Here is her footprint again.
KYLE
Just as I thought. She grew up in this area. She is heading home.
Kyle dials
KYLE
Holley, go to Laura’s house. We will meet you there. No buts just go.
Kyle and Veronica get to Laura’s house as Holley drives up. Veronica is looking all around the grass hoping to see something.
VERONICA
Kyle, I’m not sure but see the way the grass is twisted around right here?
It looks like someone grabbed something heavy and twisted to carry it off.
KYLE
Look at this. There are broken branches in the bushes right here also.
Jim hears the commotion and comes out on the porch.
JIM
What is going on?
KYLE
Jim, we have some news for you. Please come here.
JIM
What is it?
KYLE
It looks like someone followed the couple to their parking place
and tried to kidnap Laura. She got away and almost made it home.
She got to right here where someone was waiting for her in the bushes.
This means it was someone who knows her and knows where she lives.
JIM
Could it have been her school friends?
KYLE
I don’t know.
JIM
Oh my god. My son said around ten o’clock last night his dog began growing.
HOLLEY
Did he notice anything else?
JIM
No, He just went to bed.
KYLE
I think someone that knows her followed her from the Drive in and
attacked her and Billy out at the lake. She got away,
ran to the house where they were waiting on her.
JIM
I feel like a failure.
HOLLEY
Jim, you can’t protect your love ones one hundred percent of the time.
All you can do is raise them and teach them well.
KYLE
And that is what you did. She almost made it home.
HOLLEY
Let’s go to the hospital and check on Billy.
Maybe he can shed some light on all this.
Kyle and Holley go to the hospital and see Billy in
his room still in a coma. A doctor walks out.
KYLE
Excuse me. Are you the attending doctor?
DOCTOR
Yes, I’m Dr. Pepper. How can I help you?
KYLE
We are working on a case where Billy Minor
was involved with a now missing girl.
When would you think he may come out of his coma?
DOCTOR
We really can’t say. It may be today, it could be a year from now.
You really can’t tell about these things.
KYLE
OK, here is my card.
To help us find this girl, would you please call me
and let me know when I can talk to him?
DOCTOR
Sure, Sure thing.
Kyle turns to Holley
KYLE
Looks like we’re at a dead end
HOLLEY
Any clues from the crime scene?
KYLE
None that Veronica hasn’t come up with
HOLLEY
Maybe we should start interviewing all Laura’s friends and Family.
KYLE
Good Idea.
Kyle calls Jim.
KYLE
Jim, I need a list of friends and family with phone numbers.
Holley and I will be by in a few minutes to pick it up from you.
OK, By.
Holley and Kyle split up the list and each investigator goes to friend and family. Scene shows Friends and family just shaking their head no. (We could add some dialog to make it longer if necessary.)
Holley goes to Carl’s house, rings doorbell, Carl answers door.
CARL
Can I help you?
HOLLEY
I know that you know that your niece is missing.
CARL
Yea, but I haven’t seen her.
HOLLEY
Says here you saw her the night of the abduction.
CARL
Yes, But I have not seen her since.
HOLLEY
You were with a friend that night. I need his name.
CARL
I, uh don’t think so.
HOLLEY
Would you rather talk to the police?
CARL
I’ve already talked to them.
HOLLEY
Would you like to talk to them again?
CARL
No, no, his name is Sam.
HOLLEY
Sam what?
CARL
I just know him as Sam. I met him playing poker.
HOLLEY
How can we get hold of Sam? I’d like to talk to him.
CARL
Uh, I don’t know and I need to go.
Carl slams the door on Holley. Holley turns to walk away and calls Kyle.
HOLLEY
Kyle, I have a gut feeling her uncle Carl had something to do with it.
KYLE
Could you get him to talk?
HOLLEY
No, he just denied everything.
There was a man with him that night.
His name was Sam, but he would not tell me
what his last name was or how to get hold of him.
KYLE
Well, it might not do any good. But I’ll call Walter.
They hang up and Kyle dials Walter.
KYLE
Walter, Holley feels the uncle had something to do
with it the way he acted when she interviewed him.
WALTER
Did he make any comment that he did?
KYLE
No.
WALTER
Then there is nothing we can do.
We cannot go on feelings or intuition. Sorry Kyle.
KYLE
OK, we’ll keep looking.
Day 2. Laura is seen in the bedroom. Men are taking their turn with her.
DAY 3; Two men are talking.
MAN1
OK, I’ve had her long enough. I’m done with her.
How about you buy her from me.
MAN2
Sure, but I’ll need her drugged up so I can take her home.
MAN1
Done.
Laura is seen being caring down the stairs to a waiting car. Car drives to another location. Man 2 takes her into a bedroom and ties her to the bed. He undresses her and gets on top. He finishes and calls some friends over. They pay him as they go in and close the door. Laura is awake and starts screaming. The line continues.
Day 3. Doctor calls Kyle.
KYLE
Hello,
Yes DR. Thank you very much. We’ll be right over.
HOLLEY
Billy’s awake?
KYLE
Yes, let’s roll.
KYLE and Holley drive to the hospital. They walk in and the parents are there, Walter is asking permission.
WALTER
Paul, May I have permission to talk to Billy?
PAUL
Billy, do you feel like talking to the police?
BILLY
Yes
WALTER
Billy, you know Laura is still missing. Can you remember anything about that night?
BILLY
No, not much. I shouldn’t have taken Laura to the lake. I’m sorry.
Billy starts crying.
WALTER
Billy, it’s ok. Please don’t worry. We just need to see if we can find her.
Billy chokes back the sobs.
BILLY
We were just going to make out.
Laura Screamed and everything went black.
I didn’t even see who was attacking us.
WALTER
You didn’t see anyone?
BILLY
No sir.
WALTER
Do you remember hearing anything?
BILLY
No Sir.
WALTER
If you can remember anything, please let us know.
BILLY
I love Laura. Please find her.
WALTER
We will do what we can.
Billy’s mom hugs him as the team walk out.
KYLE
Well, now what.
WALTER
I don’t know. All we can do is put out feelers and see what we come up with.
HOLLEY
It’s been three days. Can we get the FBI involved?
WALTER
I’ll give them a call when I get back to the office. Kyle do we have all your notes?
KYLE
Yes, but I’ll check with Veronica when we get back.
If there is anything else, we will send it right over.
DAY 4: More men, more money changing hands.
MAN3
I’d like to have her at my place for a while
MAN2
Sold
Laura is taken to another location.
Laura is passed around from home to home for three months. Ongoing search turns up nothing.
Kyle pulls up beside an old acquaintance on the street. Bongo, as he is called recognizes Kyle and walks up to him.
BONGO
Hey Deeeetective.
What brings you down to the slums.
Kyle hands him the picture of Laura
KYLE
We’ve been looking for this girl. She was abducted about three months ago.
Do you have any information on her?
BONGO
Well, she does look familiar. But I just can’t remember where I saw her.
Kyle reaches in his pocket and hand Bongo a wad of money.
BONGO
Oh, that’s right. I remember now.
I was working for these rich folks out in the Riverside area.
Looks like the girl they took out of the car and took inside.
She was being manhandled by the bodyguards.
KYLE
Thanks Bongo that helps. Got an address?
Bongo scribbles down an address.
BONGO
Now Kyle, you know you didn’t get this information from me.
But also, she probably won’t be there. They move these girls out pretty fast.
KYLE
Ok, thanks BONGO, I’ll check it out.
Kyle gets on the phone,
KYLE
Walter, Got an address where Laura was seen being taken into a house.
WALTER
Is it a good source?
KYLE
Well, it was Bongo.
WALTER
Pretty thin. You know he will tell you anything for a buck.
KYLE
I know, but that is all I have to go on.
WALTER
Well, check it out, but don’t do anything stupid.
KYLE
You know me.
WALTER
Yes, that is what I’m worried about.
Kyle calls Holley
KYLE
Where you at?
HOLLEY
At the office
KYLE
I’m swinging by to pick you up.
HOLLEY
Got a lead?
KYLE
Yes, it’s weak, but I want you with me.
HOLLEY
I’ll be ready.
Kyle swings by, pick up Holley and they head out to the house. As they get to the house, the metal gates out front are closed. They ring the bell.
ATTENDANT
Can I help you?
KYLE
I need to talk to the owner.
ATTENDANT
Do you have an appointment?
KYLE
No, but it involves a missing girl. I’d rather not have to go get a search warrant.
There is a long pause and then the gates open. They drive up to the front of the house.
Kyle and Holley get out of the car and are met by the owner.
OWNER
How may I help you?
KYLE
We have been informed that a young girl was brought here against her will.
Have you seen this girl?
Kyle hands the picture to the owner.
OWNER
No, I’ve never seen this girl.
And there has never been anyone held here against their will.
HOLLEY
How would you like it if your daughter
was abducted and held against her will?
OWNER
I wouldn’t know. I don’t have any children.
Now if that is all you have, then please leave.
The owner walks back into the house and Kyle and Holley just look at each other.
KYLE
Let’s go.
HOLLEY
But Kyle, shouldn’t we at least have a look around?
KYLE
He asked us to leave. We could be arrested for trespassing.
We need to go.
HOLLEY
Damn it.
They get into the car and drive off.
OWNER on the phone
Bill, the detective has traced the girl to here. Get rid of her.
Bill hangs up and calls.
BILL
Larry, they have a trace on the girl. Get rid of her.
Larry hangs up and dials.
LARRY
William, ditch the girl.
William goes into the bedroom where Laura is passed out. He has his way with her once more. She just lays there with her eyes wide open. When he finishes he unties her, drugs her and wraps her in a blanket. She is taken to the trunk of a car. He then drives her until it is dark. He opens the trunk and rolls her out of the blanket into the ditch. He drives off. Her hand is sticking up out of the ditch. Cars pass by, all night long. Then in the morning, a passerby sees the hand and pulls over. He get on his phone.
PASSERBY
Yes, Police? I have found a girl dumped on the side of the road.
DISPATCHER
Yes, Please give me the address.
She writes it down. She then pushes the Microphone button.
DISPATCHER
I need a unit to this address.
She then calls an ambulance and dispatches them to the address. The hospital takes her in. No name, She is treated as Jane Doe. A police officer walking by notices and recognizers her. He calls Kyle.
OFFICER WEAVER
Kyle, Laura has been found and is at the hospital.
KYLE
We’ll be right there.
KYLE yelling at Holley,
Grab your things, Let’s roll.
They go out and get into the car.
HOLLEY
Whats up?
They found Laura. She is alive and at the community hospital.
HOLLEY
Oh, my god.
As they drive, Holley calls Jim.
HOLLEY
They have found Laura.
JIM
Yes we know. We are on our way over to the hospital.
HOLLEY
We will see you there.
Holley and Kyle go into the hospital. Doctors and nurses are trying to calm her down. She is screaming and crying. Jim walks in.
LAURA
Daddy!
Laura starts crying again. He mother hugs her. Kyle starts to walk in and Holley stops him.
HOLLEY
Give them a minute.
After a while she is talking normally, the police and Kyle try to question her.
LAURA
I was taken from my front yard and tied up.
I was taken to a house, taken upstairs, cleaned up and put in a party dress.
Men bid on me. The winner drugged me.
That is about all I remember until I woke up here.
How long have I been gone?
WALTER
About three months.
Laura again begins to cry.
KYLE
They must have kept her doped up.
HOLLEY
Jim, there is nothing else to do. If she remembers anything, please let us know.
We will continue to work on this until they are brought to justice.
Jim nods and Kyle and Holley leave.
The next week Laura is trying to readjust to her life back home. She is also reluctant to leave the house. The doorbell rings as she walks down the stairs, her mother answers the door.
WIFE
Hi Carl.
CARL
Hey, I understand you got Laura back.
Father walks into the room.
JIM
Yes, she was found dumped on the side of the road.
Laura walks down the stairs. Carl notices her.
CARL
Glad to have you back.
Laura nods, and then turns to walk away.
JIM
I just regret letting her go out that night.
CARL
I make it a rule of life never to regret and never look back. (echo)
Laura turns around and glares at her uncle. She knows it was him.
